At Christian Family Host, we set a transfer limit but that limit can be raised or lowered depending upon a site's normal usage. This is what we call our variable transfer amount. As we researched the usage of small to medium size sites we found that the vast majority of them did not use their alloted amount of monthly transfer. As a matter of fact most of them only used 10-20% of their alloted amount. So we monitor the bandwidth among the sites on each server and if it appears that one site will need more than their allotted amount we will change their amount to accomodate the extra transfer amount. We do our "variable " transfer in this manner because the Bible in Acts 2:44- 45 says: "and all that believed, were together and had all things common and sold their possesions and goods and parted them to all men as every man had need." Good stewardship of our resources is what we aim for.
Should a site's bandwidth becomes resource intensive we reserve the right to pass along the extra cost associated with the use of our system to the site owner. See our Terms of Service.

In the event that your site becomes so busy that it requires several GB of transfer per month more than the initial amount, we will contact you to see if we can help you with some any ideas on how to bring your monthly transfer down. It may be as simple as changing a program or researching to see if people are linking to your graphics or files. If your bandwidth consistently exceeds 20 or 30 GB per month, a dedicated server may be your best option. We can help you with that. Should it be required to pass on the extra cost of bandwidth to you the cost is $2.00 per GB per month.
We feel that if we, as a body, as a "Christian Family" will share the resources available to us, we will be keeping with scripture. If you are transferring an exisitng site that already recieves several GB of transfer per month, please contact us so we can find the correct solution for your hosting needs.
When you log into your control panel, you will see the maximum transfer limit set for your package. This helps us keep track of who is using what kind of transfer. If you need more, we can analyze the use of transfer by all the other domains on your server and see how much more we can allow you to use. No matter what we will always, seek out the best solution for your organization!
